At the Y, we believe that when people come together for a common cause, the whole community is strengthened. When you become a volunteer, you have the opportunity to share your time and talent with those who need it most. When you help a neighbor, you make a difference in their life… and yours.

At this time, our volunteer needs are focused on our free food Markets (what we call our food pantries). We have sites in Medford and Malden and need assistance with stocking shelves and refrigerators, unloading and organizing deliveries, preparing grocery bags, supporting our Market shoppers, and other cleaning and organizing tasks. Volunteer opportunities are typically available mornings, afternoons, and Saturdays.

Online registration and background checks are required for all individual volunteers and just background checks are required for one-time groups of volunteers.
